Are you ready for October?  Well, the pumpkins sure are!  Perry & Co. is sponsoring the 2010 Pumpkin Harvest Festival at the Four Mile Historic Park this coming weekend, Saturday and Sunday, October 2nd & 3rd.  Hundreds of pumpkins are waiting in a huge pumpkin patch for you to come and pick one (over the entire weekend, thousands will be sold) – but it’s not just about the pumpkins.  The whole park will be humming with activity – horse and buggy rides, children’s crafts, mountain men setting up camp, and pioneer women showing their old-time wares.  Plus – and this is a big plus – you can make your own scarecrow with huge bales of hay waiting to be stuffed into shirts, pants and shoes.  There’s food and drink and the sounds of a lot of happy people (last year’s weekend turnout was close to 12,000).

We love sponsoring events that bring people out to our great cultural facilities and historic parks,” says Don Larrance, CEO of Perry & Co.  “We are so blessed to live in Denver where we have so many great outdoor spaces for all of us to enjoy.” Perry & Co. has a history of supporting Denver’s Scientific and Cultural Facilities (SCFD) including the Denver Botanic Gardens, Museum of Nature & Science, Denver Zoo, Central City Opera and the Four Mile Historic Park.

This is the second year that Perry & Co. has sponsored this event – click here to see last year’s pictures. Many Perry & Co. real estate agents and staff volunteer too because it’s a blast and it’s a great way to see old friends and make some new friends. “I had a great time volunteering in the scarecrow area last year. And, it was fun for my kids to see me lending a hand,” said Corrie Lee, agent at Perry & Co.

Chuck Anderson had such a great time serving up luxury hot dogs last year he signed up again.  And, Boe Sullivan was roped into helping out with the horses.  “I think it’s because I showed up in my cowboy boots,” he said.  Boe signed up to help out again this year too.

The festival runs from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, October 2nd and 3rd.  Entrance to the park and festival is free; charges apply for some activities, pumpkin purchases and food.
