Everyone in Colorado knows to wait until Mother’s Day to plant their annuals, and in Stapleton, Memorial Day weekend is when folks finally get to jump into the summer season.
Not just a repurposed airport, Stapleton is one of Denver’s fastest growing neighborhoods and with its 4000+ rooftops already built, it’s no surprise there’s a lot going on.
Stapleton’s Master Community Association hosts a whole summer of fun events. They kick off their season this Saturday with the opening of their four neighborhood pools and the Sweet William Market. This outdoor market brings 50+ vendors worth of vintage finds, antiques, and one of a kind gifts and apparel each month to Founder’s Green, just at the base of the 29th Avenue Town Center. Kim Kouba, owner of the market and a Perry & Co. Realtor, is a bit of a market junkie. “Honestly there has yet to be a market day when I don’t get a glimpse of something coming off a truck, or unpacked from a crate, that just takes my breath away. The finds are fantastic! You’re not going to want to miss it!”
Visitors to that green space will also find a weekly Colorado Fresh Farmers Market, outdoor movies, concerts, and neighborhood events all summer long. You can get the particulars at StapletonCommunity.com.
While you’re out there you may want to hop over to Stapleton’s Discovery Center and take a tour of HGTV’s 2011 Green Home. It’s the featured stop on the Stapleton’s Global Coolness Tour, and yet another fun thing to do in the neighborhood.
