Perry & Co. Denver real estate agent Brad Colburn was a football standout at Midland Lutheran College. He was a four-year starter on the line, anchoring an offense that averaged 354 yards of total offense from 1994-97, earning him First Team All-Conference honors in 1996 and 1997. Brad helped guide the 1994 Warriors to the NAIA National Championship Playoffs.  On Friday, October 9th of 2009, Brad was inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.

The Vancouver Olympics are upon us starting tonight!  As I applaud the athletes it always makes me want to get up off the couch and cross-country ski, or maybe find an icy pond and dust off my hockey stick just to be in sync with this global love-fest of winter sports. Don’t we all feel like we won the medal when one of our athletes crosses the finish line?  Most of us won’t win medals, though so we settle for inspiration while watching as close to perfection as there is.

Sometimes though, someone we know does achieve a level of excellence in their athletic endeavors that shows us what real people can do. One of our agents, Brad Colburn was just nominated and inducted into his university’s athletic hall of fame during his first year of elegibility. Brad, class of ’98 of Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska was honored as one of five outstanding graduates at the annual Hall of Fame Induction Banquet in 2009. Brad was inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame during the college’s homecoming celebration in October (click here to read the Fremont Tribune’s account).

Some of us are “weekend warriors;” finding time to pursue our own athletic excellence when we can. We have agents that do yoga, run, play tennis, drive go-karts and row, along with those winter sports that get the coverage during the Olympics. Brad is a serious cyclist now, along with co-parenting his two toddlers with his wife Tracey, and his “weekend warrior-ing” includes at least one open house for his clients.

We applaud Brad Colburn, our own celebrated athlete for his induction into the Warrior Hall of Fame!
