13,057 people visited the Perry & Co. Real Estate Professionals sponsored Pumpkin Harvest Festival at Denver’s Four Mile Historic Park on October 2nd & 3rd, 2010 – breaking the annual event’s previous record from last year by more than 1,300!

What’s not to love about this festival?” said Perry & Co. CEO R. Don Larrance. “You look around and see people having a great time picking out pumpkins, eating Navajo Tacos, listening to music, or riding in a stagecoach. We’re thrilled to be a part of this weekend – as sponsors, as volunteers, and as attendees.” This is the second year that Perry & Co. has sponsored the Pumpkin Harvest Fest again resulting in record crowds.

When we get involved with an event we like to promote it as well as be here – as volunteers and attendees,” explains Lorrie Webb Grillo, VP of Marketing. “We sent out over 3000 direct mail postcards inviting our clients, their friends and families, as well as, posting the event on our Blog, Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn profiles. I believe this impacted the success of the event for the Four Mile Park and that’s our goal as sponsors.”

Plus, it’s just a whole lot of fun! Perry & Co. agents volunteered as greeters, hot-dog vendors, cashiers and more. This year Mary Pat Wilson, Diana Garrett, Boe Sullivan, Chuck Anderson, Courtney Ranson, Eric Grauberger and Mary Sullivan-Ridge volunteered at the event. Additionally, many company agents and staff brought their families to the event too.

It’s been crazy. I’ve never seen so many people in a pumpkin patch before,” said Courtney Ranson.

I’ve seen people I haven’t seen in years. Everyone wants to take a picture of their kids in the pumpkin patch.” said Eric Grauberger, another pumpkin patch traffic-controller.

Tallying up the cost of hot dogs and drinks is good for my brain,” joked Chuck Anderson, about his volunteer job as a food cashier.

The luxurious autumn weather helped to bring out the crowds to the free event. Some activities inside the Park cost a fee – horse & buggy rides and scarecrow making – but many of the activities were free – climbing on hay bails, pow-wow’ing with a Lakota Chief inside his tee-pee, making historic crafts and walking on stilts! Of course, most people come to pick out their Halloween pumpkins, too. And, thousands of pumpkins are sold. This year featured a pumpkin-sitting booth so you could select and pay for your favorite pumpkin, and then pick it up later so you could enjoy the rest of the festival.

People enjoying the day at one of Denver’s great cultural facilities – this Festival is right in line with our Perry & Co. values. We’re grateful to the Four Mile Historic Park for the amazing job they did in orchestrating all the activities here today, so many things to do!” summed up Don Larrance.
